I don’t have a website yet, but it is in the making

Shan: How did you get started writing?
Latonia: I was talking to another author and I was telling her about my past relationships… one day she text me and said I had a dream that you wrote a book about your life. I said no I wouldn’t do that. She said well you did and did good, so I need you to put that in a book, so I did and that’s how I started writing. But I have always kept a journal.

Shan: How long does it take you to write a book?
Latonia: The first book I put out took me six months, then I out the second one out eight months later. When I did the rewrite, it took me a year. I am working on a few books now but I am taking my time.

Shan: Where do you get your ideas?
Latonia: Mostly from past experiences. I work in a hotel and man the stories I could tell.

Shan: Tell us about your writing style?
Latonia: I don’t really have a writing style…I just write if that makes sense

Shan: What is the name of the first book you ever published? When?
Latonia: The first book I published was The Ex Files…it was released in august 2015

Shan: How many books do you have published?
Latonia: I have published four. But only two are available now. My first book I wrote The EX Files and the Ex Files 2, I rewrote and made them one standalone book. The other book was a collaboration between my pen sisters and myself called A Mothers Passion.

Shan: What do you do when you’re not writing?
Latonia: I love to read. I love spending time with my family. My youngest son is a senior in high school, so I try to spend time with him before he no longer wants to be bothered with me lol.

Shan: What do you find the hardest about writing?
Latonia: Finding the time to write.

Shan: What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned in your writing career?
Latonia: That I can tell a story.

Shan: Who is your favorite author? Why?
Latonia: V.C. Andrews. I love her writing style. I have read all of her books

Shan: What is something that you want your readers to know about you?
Latonia: I take criticism well. I listen to my readers and take everything they say in reviews to consideration.

Shan: Do you have any goals for this year pertaining to your writing?
Latonia: I would live to put out all three books this year, but I am having some health issues, but I am not going to let that stop me. I will do my best. I am already beating myself up because I wanted my second book out by March but that look like it won’t happen. I also want to reach at least 50 reviews.

Shan: What are the one click links for your books?
Latonia: The Ex Files

Shan: If you had to the opportunity to recommend a book to a new reader which one would you recommend? Why?
Latonia: I would probably recommend my own. You know, give a new indie author a chance.

This interview took place in the Kween’s Book Klique group on Facebook! I personally have not read anything by Latonia but I will be doing really soon. Yall come stop by the Kween’s Book Klique and check out what we have going on in there!
