Kween's Book Klique Author Spotlight with Raven Bennett




This week in the Kween’s Book Klique for our author spotlight I had the pleasure of speaking to the lovely Raven Bennett! Our conversation went a little something like this.

Shan: Hey Raven, how you doing tonight?
Raven: I’m doing good, how are you?
Shan: I’m doing pretty good! Thank You for joining us!

Shan: What name do you write under?
Raven: I write under Raven Shanice

Shan: How can your readers get in contact with you? What social media sites can you be found on? Do you have a website?

Shan: How did you get started writing?
Raven: I started back in middle school I grew up being very shy, so I used my writing as a way to express myself and clear my mind.

Shan: How long does it take you to write a book?
Raven: if I’m not going through writers block usually a good month to month ½

Shan: Where do you get your ideas?
Raven: everyday life experiences, music and TV

Shan: Tell us about your writing style?
Raven: I’m descriptive and narrative

Shan: What is the name of the first book you ever published? When?
Raven: my first book was The Preacher’s Daughter released November 5th

Shan: How many books have you published?
Raven: 3 The Preachers Daughter 1&2 and Thug Holiday

Shan: What do you do when you’re not writing?
Raven: I’m usually working or spending time with family and friends

Shan: What do you find hardest about writing?
Raven: entering into writer’s block. Some days are harder to shake out of it than others.

Shan: What Is the most surprising thing you’ve learned in your writing career?
Raven: that there are so many authors and support groups out that genuinely want to help you to succeed and the drama as well, that was quite surprising to see.

Shan: Who is your favorite author? Why?
Raven: Sharon G Flake. I grew up reading her books and really loved her style of writing.

Shan: What is something you want your readers to know about you?
Raven: I am a super easy and friendly person to talk to. I love to hear feedback whether it’s good or bad.

Shan: Do you have any goals for this year pertaining to your writing?
Raven: Yes, I want to release lots more books, get paperbacks, get my books in stores and get better and keep learning new things.

Shan: If you had the opportunity to recommend a book to a new reader which one would you recommend? Why
Raven: I would love to recommend my book the Preacher’s Daughter. It’s the typical good girl bad boy but it has a lot of inspirational stuff with the church scenes that I wrote for the book. I really enjoyed writing this book.
