Kween's Book Klique Author Spotlight with Tatiana Sanon (Queen T)
Author Tatiana Sanon (Queen T)
Thursday
March 21,2019 in the Kween’s Book Klique I got the chance to get to know the
lovely Tatiana Sanon also know as Queen T. This week Queen T stepped up for me
big time and at the last minute at that. I am forever grateful for that. Our conversation
went as followed…
Shan: So where are you from?
Tatiana: I’m from Queens New York
Shan:
So, what name do you write
under?
Tatiana: I go by Queen 👑 T
Shan: Do you have a website? What social
media sites can you be found on? Please include the links.
Tatiana: I’m currently having my company site built and it will
be up and running this weekend
On social
media I’m on Facebook and Instagram
Tatiana: Sip and Read With Queen T is my
group and my publishing page is heart and Hustle publishing
Shan: Are you signed or self-published?
Tatiana: was signed but I am now self-published
with a publishing company I’m working on
Shan: How did you get started writing?
Tatiana: I’ve always had a passion for writing
since I was as young as 11. I wrote short stories and poems back then but never
thought of it but a hobby. After reading flyy girl in high school I fell in love
with urban books and wanted to write my own. I kept making excuses for why I
couldn’t until I graduated college and had nothing but time. I worked a boring
office job and I figure on the downtime I could write, and I did my first
series Karma Before Konscious was born
Shan: Mann fly girl was my ish 😂
Tatiana: mine too I hated the second part but
flyy girl hooked me into this urban world
Shan: heck yea
Shan: How long does it take you to write a
book?
Tatiana: if I’m stress free and focus three
weeks but lately, I have been super busy with school I’m working on getting my master’s
degree and my main job teaching, so I haven’t been as focus
Shan: Where do you get your ideas for your
books?
Tatiana:
I get the weirdest inspiration
out of nowhere sometimes
But a lot of
my stories evolve after watching crime shows and murder mystery shows
Shan: Tell us about your writing style?
Tatiana: that’s a good question sometimes I
don’t even know lol, but my writing style is urban fiction with a twist. I say
this because I love adding elements of mystery and suspense you never thought
would be. I love to write about experiences I lived through or know about. All
my books are based in New York because I feel as an author you should have
authentic feels when you talk about places. I hate reading a book from a person
who visited a place once and feel they can make a New Yorker believe they are
from here without any real knowledge on places other then what they seen on tv.
I’m
currently writing urban fiction or romance and my first paranormal comes out
next month (fingers cross)
Shan: I feel where you’re coming from! As
a reader that really bothers me to read about a place and stuff is not accurate
at all 😂
Tatiana: girllll I do a lot of research if I
touch on a subject, I’m not 100 percent sure on
Shan: that’s what’s up right there
Shan: What is the name of the first book you
ever published? When?
Tatiana: Karma Before Konscious and it was
released in November of last year
Shan: I read that series and I loved it! I
believe I gave both books 5 stars
Tatiana: yes, I think you did I did a spin off
to end the series but I’m having withdrawal from the crew. I don’t want to drag
it out
Shan: is the spinoff out yet?
Tatiana: yes
Tatiana:
Karma & Trey: Ready For Love
With a
history of sexual abuse and mental illness, Karma Jones has had her share of
heartache, life changing drama, and disappointment.
Following
the death of her husband, Karma is left alone to raise her twin daughters and
two step-sons that she loves as her own. After the tragic circumstances
surrounding her husband’s death, she swears off all men to focus on herself and
being a family woman, until her sights are set on Tremaine, making it almost
impossible to stay away from him.
Tall, dark,
and handsome, Tremaine aka Trey is Karma’s brother-in-law’s business partner
who has a thing for the feisty mother of four. After bumping heads a number of
times, neither Karma nor Trey can fight their feelings any longer and decide to
give in to temptation, but not everyone is happy to see this union.
In their
relationship, Karma isn’t the only one who is used to being on the giving or
receiving end of revenge. Trey’s younger brother, Tyrell Thompson has hated him
since they were children. Rage and vengeance are dangerous characteristics to
carry around, especially when you’re trying to break out of the shadow of your
older brother. For Trey, living a better life may not be in the cards especially
when his brother gets involved.
Trinity
Davis, Trey’s baby mother, lost Trey to her own infidelity a long time ago. Not
seeing their past as her fault she’s desperate to make him pay for constantly
bringing up their rocky past and moving on to the beautiful Karma Jones. Her
jealousy pushes her to make a terrible decision, and when she tries to fix it,
it may cost Trey and Karma their lives.
Will Trinity
be too late to make things right with her son’s father? Is Tyrell’s hatred
going to overcome him and force him to harm his brother? Can Karma & Trey’s
love withstand the tests of time?
Karma and
Trey will have you believing in love and the length one will go to protect the
one they love.
Shan: thanks, I will be checking it out
Tatiana: you’re welcome
Shan: How many books do you have published?
Tatiana:
currently I have 4 with three
set to drop next month
Shan: What do you do when you’re not
writing?
Tatiana: I’m a mother to an amazing 4-year-old
but I’m also a mother to 12 special needs children I teach as a special
education teacher. My free time is cut between my child, work and I’m currently
in school so I have no free time unless I’m sleeping. Not to mention trying to
get my publishing company up and successful.
Shan: What do you find the hardest about
writing?
Tatiana: having so many ideas coming at you
when you already have a great outline done. I tend to revise a lot and even
edit before it is published
Shan:
What is the most surprising
thing you’ve learned in your writing career?
Tatiana: not everyone is genuine. People you
think are for you are the most problematic people you’ll ever come across
Tatiana: I learned recently drama will have
you in situations you want to be neutral in
Shan: Who is your favorite author and why?
Tatiana: That’s hard I have two I love. But
my go to that I will drop everything and read is Bianca I love that her books
bring forth a love and appreciation for dark skin natural haired girls
Shan: I don’t think I’ve ever read
anything by her! I’m gonna have to check her out.
Shan: What is something you want your
readers to know about you?
Tatiana:
my goal is to sign more author
and guide them to be better than me. Their success is my top priority even
before mine.
I also plan
to drop more books in different genres such as erotica, paranormal and
interracial romance. And then I’m going to take a month off to study more on my
craft to improve my writing
Shan: If you could recommend a book to a new reader
what would you suggest they read and why?
Tatiana: a book of mine or any author?
Shan: Yours
Tatiana:
Mistletoe And Mayhem: A Southside Queens Christmas Novella
Shan: ok I will be checking that one out
as well
Tatiana: I chose this cause I loveeeed this
story it shows love and forgiveness and it’s a novella, so it reads well. I
loved this so much that I’m already planning a full novel.
I enjoyed chatting with Queen T, I love how she was very easy
to talk to and down to earth. This was the end of our conversation, but I did
open the group for the other members to ask questions of their own. To see those
questions and answers you would have to head on over to Facebook and check out
the Kween’s Bool Klique.
